Borrowing books from UW/UG/WLU

  • Search Primo. Once you have found a book you want to borrow, click on the location link underneath the book title.  Then follow 'Sign in to place a hold or recall'.  If you are a uWaterloo undergraduate you can have books sent to uWaterloo from WLU, Guelph or the Annex.
  • Select "hold" if the book is listed in library OR "recall" if the book is on-loan.

Returning Books to UW

  • You can drop books off in any of the on-campus book drops
  • You can also drop off TUG books at the circulation desk of any Ontario university library.  They will be returned at no-cost to you by the Inter University Transit Service.

Exception: Do not use this for RACER books. RACER books must be returned to a uWaterloo library circulation desk.

Can't find the book you want?

Request a book through RACER
If there is a book or article that you are looking for that the Library does not have, place an interlibrary loan request for it. The Library will borrow it from another institution, at no cost to you.

Planning to visit another university?
uWaterloo students can freely borrow books directly from many other Canadian universities.  Browse the library catalogues to learn what is available.
