PubMed Tips

  1. ALWAYS connect to PubMed through the Library webpage.  This enables the links to Getit@Waterloo and Waterloo full text journals

  3. PubMed applies MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) to each article.  These terms are used to group articles on similar topics.  Useful MeSH headings for public health interventions which could be used in PubMed search strategies include:
    • Community health services
    • Health education
    • Health promotion
    • Health policy
    • Patient education
    • Preventive health services
    • Public health

Find a Specific Known Journal Title or Article

Search for the title of the journal in our E-Journal Titles Database. It contains all of the online journals available from the UW LIbrary. Tip: check to make sure we own the year of publication that you need.

If the journal is not listed in the E-Journal title database, request it using UW Library's interlibrary loans services.

Get the full Article

Once you search a database you will see one of the following links associated with each result:

  • Get it at Waterloo
  • Full-Text
  • PDF

Click on one of these options in the database to see if the Library subscribes to that journal. If so, we can provide you with the full article.
