Economic Development: Get Started

This guide provides a starting point for finding resources and services for Local Economic Development at the University of Waterloo Library.

Your WATCard is your Library card. Use it to borrow books from UW and other University Libraries as well as to remotely access the UW Library's electronic resources.

1. Get to know your Liaison Librarian
2. Become familiar with the Waterloo Library and University of Waterloo webpages
3. Get to know where everything is in the Libraries (Dana Porter Library; Davis Centre/DC)
4. Use a Subject Guide to start your research
5. Take advantage of your term loan period for local books
6. Ask for local book and article delivery
7. Use RACER to get materials available outside the TUG Library system
8. Use Connect from Home to access electronic resources from off-campus
9. Use RefWorks to create and format your bibliographies
