Accessing Standards through the Library
Waterloo subscribes to standards from several organizations, listed below. If you cannot find the standard you are looking for, use the contact form on the Get Started page to place a request for the standard. Standards requests will be reviewed on an individual basis.
ASTM issues a complete set of their standards annually. Waterloo subscribed to them in print from 1970 until 2008, when we converted to online. Search for old editions in the Library catalogue, and current standards through the ASTM website.
Waterloo has access to some of the BSI standards through the TechStreet database. The database is defaulted only to show results that we have as part of our subscription.
Waterloo subscribes to the entire suite of CSA standards, including past versions.
IEEE standards are accessible through the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Select Standards under content tab next to the search bar.
Print versions of IEEE standards were issues in conjunction with another organization, eg. IEEE-ANSI. Search for older standards in the Library Catalogue, using "standard" within your search for best results.
Waterloo has access to some ISO standards through the TechStreet database. TechStreet is set up to show only the standards in our subscription.
Some older ISO standards are available through the Library catalogue. Search for "International Organization for Standardization" as the Author/Creator.
