Use interlibrary loan (ILL) to request a book not listed in our catalogue. The Library will obtain it from another institution for you to borrow.

Remember, the mathematician you select must be born after 1550 (the example mathematician used in this guide, Omar Khayyam, does not meet this criteria).
To find books about the mathematician, try searching for their name in the title or subject fields of the catalogue's 'advanced search' feature.
Use the 'advanced search' feature of the catalogue to select the author/creator field. Search for your mathematician in the author field to find the research they produced.
Use the limits on the left hand side of the results to help you find relevant material.
If you know the name of any of their major works (perhaps you found a title from a reference list on a website and want to access that book or article) you can search for it in the title field of the library's catalogue.
