Please note: You do not need to take all three workshops. You do not need to take the workshops in any specific order, they are designed to operate independent of one another.
Would you like to learn more about the differences between scoping and systematic reviews, as well as the steps involved with conducting each of these review types?
These workshop materials are free to download for all, whether you attend the workshop live, or review the materials on your own, at your own pace. Systematic and scoping reviews require a rigorous and reproducible search methodology. This workshop, a combination of ppt presentation and interactive activities, outlines the expectations of a systematic search and provides practical experience in developing a search methodology which meets systematic standards.

This workshop will focus on using technical tools, Covidence, to streamline the review process, as well as a reference manager, Zotero, to work with the search results from your structured review to generate in-cite citations and an automated bibliography.
NOTE: Participants will need to register and download the appropriate software prior to class; Covidence (systematic review software), and Zotero (reference manager). Remember to always register using your Uwaterloo email so that you can access the institutional licenses.
There are no slides for this workshop - we will instead be utilizing the Libguide to work through a practice review in Covidence and Zotero. If you are attending the workshop and would like to work along with the examples utilized by the librarian, please visit the Libguide for Workshop 3 where you can register for Covidence and Zotero, and download the practice files.
