Personal Collections in the Mennonite Archives of Ontario

Personal archival collections are collections of individuals or families. These collections may include genealogical materials (unpublished genealogical research, records of family reunions, etc.) not found in the Genealogical Manuscripts group.

The Archives holds hundreds of hours of taped oral history interviews of Mennonite individuals.  Browse the oral history projects or search the Archives the Archives for particular names.

Of particular interest to Amish genealogy in Ontario is:

  • Lorraine Roth fonds. Lorraine Roth was a genealogist and local historian focusing on the Amish migration from Europe to southwestern Ontario in the 19th century. Her genealogy summaries files, organized by surname, are often helpful.
