Open access definitions that might help you when reading publisher and funder policies:

Pre-print
- Also known as the original or submitted manuscript
- This is the version of the paper written by the author(s) but does not have any of the changes from peer review
Post-print
- Also known as the accepted manuscript
- This is the version of the paper that contains the changes from the journal's peer review process
Version of record
- This version contains the changes from the peer review process
- It also has the publisher's formatting (it is the final published paper)
