Stratford Campus : Country Research

Research

What is Country Research?

Country research can be beneficial to better understand both your industry and your market. Researching one country from another can give you insights into consumer preferences, trends, and behaviours; and help you understand how the political or economic landscape might differ from other countries. The following tools have country-based information that might be useful for your research.

Library Resources

Statista

GlobalData Explorer

How to use GlobalData for country research?

From the top menu, click Countries. Search for a country or use the navigation menus to narrow to a country of interest. There are several report types available for each country. Choose from Sector (industry) reports, City Profiles for major cities within the country, Global Ads, and more.

IBISWorld

How to use IBISWorld for country research?

IBISWorld provides industry reports for Canada and the United States. The reports are based on industry but may provide insights into specific industries based on country/region.

NOTE: For Canadian reports, Waterloo subscribes to provincial-level data. First, access a report you're interested in. Scroll to the Geographic Breakdown section. Under Business Locations, scroll to the data table and click on a particular province or territory to see more specific results for that location.
