Science & Business Research Guide: Get started

This guide was created for students in the Science & Business program at Waterloo. In this program, you're asked to take a business approach to solving science problems, which requires a diverse range of research skills.

This guide is your research support during the Science & Business program. If you need to do research for your classes or co-ops, this guide can help! 

The Research Skills section teaches you how to conduct different kinds of research, like market research or company research. 

The Research Tools section contains a mix of Library-subscribed resources that Waterloo users have access to, and freely available resources that anyone can access. 

You'll see these icons throughout the guide:

 Library Resources: resources that the library pays to subscribe to. Available to current Waterloo students, staff, and faculty.

 Openly Available Resources: free and open resources that anyone can use, including alumni, community users, and students on co-op.

 Sustainability: Openly available resources that contain research or information on sustainability.

 Ethics: Openly available resources that contain research or information on ethics.

 Leadership: Openly available resources that contain research or information on leadership.

 Policy: Openly available resources that contain research or information on policy.
