Fall/Winter hours: September 2, 2025 to May 31, 2026

  • Monday -- Thursday: 8:30am to 11:00pm

  • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Getting here

The Witer Learning Resource Centre is located on the second floor of the School of Optometry and Vision Science, room 2101.

Resources at the WLRC

The WLRC contains the University of Waterloo Libraries collections for vision science and optometry, located digitally and in the stacks and archives. In addition, the WLRC also has resources for course and lab materials on reserve (inquire at front desk). The stacks located in the WLRC are moving shelves -- if you need assistance using the shelves or accessing an item, please inquire at the front desk.

Please note that your account will be blocked if:

  • Item missing status applied $100.00
  • Recalled or reserve item is overdue
  • Outstanding interlibrary loans (ILL)

Access to the preclinic and simulation labs can be acquired through the WLRC for eligible students.

  • Come to us and we will open the space if locked
  • The sim lab and pre-clinic close 1hr before the WLRC. 
  • Online booking available
  • Pharmaceutical drops and supplies are available at our circulation desk

In the WLRC space, located on the second floor of the School of Optometry and Vision Science, North Campus, University of Waterloo, there is access to 

  • Study spaces
  • Group study rooms (in-person booking only; inquire at the front desk)
  • Individual and silent study space
  • Computer lab
  • Photocopier/printer/scanner
